The Summary Focus of Tom Steyer and NextGen
SRT now believes that the NextGen organization will team up with the HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) in efforts to chain up our land and wildlife such as is happening with the effort to stop Big Game hunting. It’s clear that NextGen, HSUS, PITA and Sierra Club have lofty goals to stop hunting, increase socialism, open our borders and ignore the constitution.
Why You Need to Watch Tom Steyer
Thomas Steyer is an American billionaire hedge fund manager, philanthropist, environmentalist, progressive activist, and fundraiser.
Steyer is the founder and former co-senior managing partner of Farallon Capital and the co-founder of OneCalifornia Bank, which became Beneficial State Bank, an Oakland-based community development bank. Farallon Capital manages $20 billion in capital for institutions and high-net-worth individuals. The firm’s institutional investors include college endowments and foundations. Since 1986, Steyer has been a partner and member of the Executive Committee at Hellman & Friedman, a San Francisco-based $8 billion private equity firm. In 2010, Steyer and his wife signed The Giving Pledge to donate half of their fortune to charity during their lifetime. In 2012, he sold his stake in and retired from Farallon Capital. Switching his focus to politics and the environment, he launched NextGen America, a non-profit organization that supports progressive positions on climate change, immigration, health care, and education.
The Political Activity of Tom Steyer
Steyer is a leading Democratic activist and fundraiser. In 1983, he worked on Walter Mondale’s presidential campaign. He raised money for Bill Bradley in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004.
An early supporter of Hillary Clinton in 2008, Steyer became one of Barack Obama’s most prolific fundraisers. Steyer served as a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions in 2004 and 2008. Steyer has been a member of the Hamilton Project and has been involved with the Democracy Alliance, a network of progressive donors whose membership in the group requires them to donate at least $200,000 a year to recommended organizations.
After the Obama victory in 2008, Steyer was considered for appointment as Secretary of Treasury. Jim Steyer, Tom’s brother, told Men’s Journal that Obama and his advisors would regret having chosen someone else, due to his expertise. In January 2013, rumors briefly arose that Steyer might be named as a replacement for Energy Secretary Steven Chu. Asked whether he would accept such an appointment, Steyer said he would.
Steyer has been compared with and contrasted with the Koch brothers, billionaire businessmen who engage in extensive political activity, and has been viewed as a Koch adversary.
What is NextGen America?
NextGen America is an environmental advocacy nonprofit and political action committee created in 2013 by Tom Steyer supporting candidates and policies that take action against climate change. It has typically criticized Republican candidates, but has also targeted Democrats who have failed to take a stance on climate change. The organization has also been an opponent of the Keystone XL pipeline.
NextGen America acts politically to prevent climate disaster, promote prosperity, and protect the fundamental rights of every American and since their founding in 2013, they claim to fight climate change by advancing the transition to a clean energy economy. They support candidates who support climate action, fighting to halt the Keystone XL pipeline and registered more than 1 million voters nationwide. But this is a front, like most left wing green organizations, to pump money into environmental activists that take away hunting and fishing rights.
NextGen’s Fair Shake Committee
In the “Fair Shake Committee” report by Steyer, “California stands as an alternative to Donald Trump’s America. Our economy is the sixth largest in the world, and our state is the most ethnically and racially diverse in the nation. A majority of our residents and more than 75 percent of our children are people of color.”
He is right, but California is one of the poorest states in the union. Because of the minority population, they no longer have the money to support the population.
Volunteering for the NextGen Texting Team
The bullets start flying by employing the left wing population to push the agenda of Tom Steyer via their volunteer program. Although we don’t have the numbers, this list must run into the millions that reach beyond the borders of California. Really!
“Help us spread the word by signing up to send text messages to our text activists. From town halls, special elections, and marches, to contacting Congress for nationwide issues, our volunteers reach out to activists across the country to help them find out what’s happening and get all the information they need to take action.”
Steyer Stops DNC Contributions After Government Shutdown Debacle
Tom Steyer announces that he will immediately stop all funding to the Democratic National Committee. Steyer, known for his political activism in recent years, was dismayed by how several high ranking Democrats voted in the recent government shutdown kerfuffle over illegal immigration.
Steyer spent $20 million in 2017 on advertisements targeting President Donald J. Trump and encouraging impeachment of the 45th commander-in-chief. He has also spent another $30 million on the 2018 elections.
